Spitfire Gen II prism sight from the renowned Vortex company known in the shooting environment for weapon-mounted optics and observation equipment with high durability and quality. The Spitfire Gen II model is dedicated to rifles caliber 5.56 mm, especially for the AR platform, but it will also work as a compact sight on any other carbines.

The new generation has an enlarged range of aiming point adjustment up to 250 MOA vertically and horizontally and is equipped with AR-BDC4 reticle calibrated to 5.56 mm caliber ammunition.

The housing of the Spitfire Gen II red dot sight is made of durable, anodized aluminum, in a matte finish and the additional sealing makes the prismatic red dot sight resistant to the penetration of moisture, dust and dirt. The scope is also resistant to evaporation and fog, thanks to filling the inside of the housing with nitrogen.

The manufacturer joins the set with the collimator high assembly (1/3 co-witness) and low assembly (27 mm). Both mounts are mounted on Picatinny rails with two torx screws.

The  HD lenses used in the collimator ensure bright and clear image, high sharpness also at the edges and eliminate the effect of chromatic aberration . The three-fold constant magnification of the image combined with compact dimensions makes the viewfinder perfect for dynamic shooting at both distant and close targets.

Aiming point in the form of a red dot with a size of 1 MOA with a surrounding incomplete 1.5 MOA ring applied to the AR-BDC4 net allows precise aiming and quick correction of 300 to 600 yards (274 – 548 m).

Adjustment vertically and horizontally in the range of 250 MOA is carried out using two knobs that do not protrude beyond the outline of the housing, moving the dot by 1 MOA per click, thanks to which the shooter can apply the appropriate corrections without the need to use specialized tools but only e.g. with a coin. Additionally, the Spitfire HD Gen II model has an eyepiece with quick focus adjustment for easy sharpening of the reticle.

The prism scope has 12 brightness levels, which allows you to adjust its level to the prevailing lighting conditions and the individual preferences of the shooter. In addition, the two lowest settings are dedicated to cooperation with night vision optics.

Automatic switch-off system, which turns off the backlight after 14 hours from the last button press, protects the user against accidental discharge of the CR2032 battery mounted on the side of the scope housing.
