Built to withstand the rigours of tactical environments, the HL1 boasts a durable, watertight polymer body constructed from glass-filled nylon and neoprene. It attaches easily to any Modular Integrated Communications Helmet (MICH) using an included ambidextrous mount that allows for 20 preset positions and true 360-degree rotation. This design ensures that users can adjust the light’s orientation swiftly and efficiently. With just a press of a lever, the mount unlocks for quick removal, allowing for seamless transitions during operations. Additionally, an optional Z71 carry clip makes it easy to mount the light to any MOLLE or ALICE vest for added accessibility.
User operation is intuitive, featuring two toggle switches and a pressure switch that allow quick toggling between output levels-high, medium, and low-across different colours. The HL1 also offers impressive runtimes, with the red LED capable of lasting up to 96 hours on low, making it ideal for extended missions where conserving battery life is crucial. The white LED also shines with durability, providing up to 48 hours of runtime on low.
Weighing in at only 2.4 oz (68 g) without the mount and 4.0 oz (113 g) with the mount, the HelmetLight is lightweight and easy to carry. Its compact dimensions of 2.2 in x 3.2 in x 2.4 in (5.6 cm x 8.1 cm x 6.1 cm) ensure that it can be seamlessly integrated into any tactical setup without adding unnecessary bulk.
